Sybil Headband: Stunning Filet crochet headband pattern

filet crochet headband pattern: Sybil Headband

Sybil headband is a filet crochet headband pattern with a whirl like design in it’s body. It is an explorative design to take your filet crochet technique to the next level beyond home décor.

Sybil Headband: a laud through crochet

Sybil means a prophetess or oracle or fortune teller in the ancient world originally in Greek. But this headband is named after the Divination Professor at Hogwarts, Sybill Trelawney. She plays a pivotal role in the Harry Potter series and in fact, it is because of the prophecy she made, the series exists. Sybil Headband, the filet crochet headband pattern, is my ode through crochet to the prophetesses at Hogwarts.

Construction

Sybil Headband is crocheted in one piece from one of the ties to another. You start at one side, and then there is an increase in stitches to attain the width. Once the desired length is achieved, the stitches are decreased and finished at the other end with a tie. There is absolutely no sewing involved.

In the pattern, you will find both written instructions and illustrations to support each other. Thus Sybil headband pattern is fully equipped for all kinds of makers.

Prerequisites

Sybil is a lacy filet crochet headband pattern worked seamlessly from one end to the other, tie-to-tie. Designed using filet crochet technique, every solid block is a 3-dc and open block, dc,ch1,dc. While placing the stitches in the ch1-sp, place them below the chain and not into the chainTo learn the fundamentals of filet crochet technique, read THIS post.

Every row that begins with a double crochet stitch is substituted with a chainless double crochet, to have a clean edge. This will not be mentioned in every row in the instruction and is understood that the first dc is a chainless double crochet stitch.
